What is the fastest way to get a welding quote?
Two or three photos texted to the number on this page. A photo shows the metal, the crack, and the access all at once, which lets us give a real number off the published table instead of a maybe. Most photo quotes go out the same day.
Can any broken metal thing be welded?
Most, not all. Mild steel welds beautifully, aluminum and stainless weld with TIG and proper prep, and cast iron welds with preheat and patience. What does not repair well: pot metal and die-cast parts, safety-critical chain and hooks, and metal so rusted there is nothing sound to weld to. Will the repair be as strong as the original?
Done right, the weld is commonly stronger than the surrounding metal, which is why failures happen beside old repairs rather than through them. The honest part of repair work is reinforcing the cause, adding a gusset or backing plate where the design cracked once, so the fix does not just move the problem an inch over.
Why do you keep asking about rust?
Because rust is prep time and prep time is money. A sound weld needs bright metal, so scale and rot get ground back before any bead goes down. It is the single biggest reason the same repair can sit at the bottom or the top of its published range.
Do you do fabrication or just repair?
Repair first, small fabrication where it serves a repair: a replacement gate section, a bracket, a reinforcement, a set of steps for a mobile home. Full custom fabrication projects, railings from scratch or trailer builds, we quote case by case or point you to a fab shop when that serves you better.
Are you insured to work at my business?
Yes, and certificates are available for vendor onboarding before work starts. Commercial jobs follow the facility hot work permit process, with fire watch where required, which is standard OSHA practice for welding in an operating building.
Can I just bring you the broken thing instead?
If it fits in a truck bed, yes, and it is the cheapest path: drop-off work runs $75 to $125 an hour with no service call. Hitches, brackets, mower decks, and gates that lift off their hinges are all good drop-off candidates.
When is replacement smarter than repair?
When rust has eaten the parent metal, when a casting has shattered rather than cracked, or when a load-rated part like a racking upright is damaged past its repair pattern. We price repair honestly against replacement and have talked plenty of customers out of paying us, which is exactly why they call back.
